Reporting an error

If you believe any figure or fact on PlainNHS is wrong — whether through upstream data error, a transcription mistake, or stale data — please write to hello@plainnhs.co.uk with the URL of the page, the figure you are flagging, and (where possible) the upstream source against which you have verified the correct value. We aim to acknowledge within 72 hours.

How we handle corrections

  1. We compare the disputed value against the cited upstream source (NHS Digital, NHS England, or CQC).
  2. If our value differs from the upstream source, we correct it and add a visible correction note to the page footer with the date and nature of the correction.
  3. If our value matches the upstream source but the source itself is wrong, we record the discrepancy in our methodology notes and contact the upstream publisher. We do not publish a value that we know to be wrong; we either omit it or annotate it with the published-vs-actual gap.
  4. For corrections affecting more than one page, we publish a corrections-log entry on this page.

Removal requests

NHS Trusts and GP practices are public-interest entities discharging public functions; we do not normally remove pages on request. However, if you are a clinician or administrator and a page shows a factual error about your specific organisation, we will correct it on the same basis as above.

Data-protection requests

PlainNHS does not publish personal data about clinicians, patients, or any other individuals. All published information is at the level of the NHS Trust, GP practice, or procedure aggregate. If you believe a page contains personal data identifiable to a specific individual, write to hello@plainnhs.co.uk and we will review under UK GDPR.

Editorial standards

We follow the published guidance of IPSO's Editors' Code of Practice on accuracy and corrections, even though we are not a member publisher.
