How to use this comparison
Patients in England have a statutory right to choose where they are referred for non-urgent NHS treatment (the “Choose & Book” entitlement). This means at the point of GP referral you can ask to be sent to a specific Trust—not just the geographically closest one.
Three signals matter most when comparing: CQC rating (independent quality regulator), RTT 18-week performance (proportion treated within the elective standard), and the procedure-specific median wait (how long the procedure you need typically takes at this Trust). A Trust with a high CQC rating but poor RTT for your specific procedure may not be the right choice; a less well-known Trust with strong procedure-specific data often will be.
